DESCRIPTION:  \nPolishing a case today requires many skills. Complex case and bracelet designs are common in the marketplace. \nStandardized polishing methods were often not taught in watchmaking schools here in the U.S. until recently. Many watchmakers learned polishing by trial and error or observing the procedures of others. Today’s consumer has high expectations concerning the quality of the watch repair which includes the refinishing of the case and bracelet. Knowledge is the key. \nOur formal training program includes concepts and hands-on training in the following areas: \n\nCasing information\nCase and bracelet refinishing\nMetallurgy\nLathe finishes\nUse of modern variable speed polishers\nModern polishing techniques ensuring case shape integrity\nWater resistant testing\n\nThis course is designed to help you realize: \n\nA higher quality of service\nreduced come-backs due to moisture issues\nfaster turnaround time\nhigher customer satisfaction\n\nPrerequisites: Must be able to stand for long periods of time and operate machinery safely including the Lathe. \nLength of course: 40 hours in 5 days\, (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) \nCost $1345 for AWCI members $1495 for non-members \n  \nContact AWCI education director Jason Champion to register for this class at education@awci.com or 866-367-2924 extension 303 \n
