SUMMARY:Clock Escapement Studies
DESCRIPTION:Class Description:  This 3 day course is an in depth study of a number of escapements (~8\, more as time permits) that are used in horological products. Their theory\, their construction\, and their adjustment are studied in detail.  Students will learn to draw\, identify escapement variables\, and manipulate these variables to achieve optimal escapement action and quality. This course has been expanded from the former 2 day course to give students more time for hands-on experience with the manipulation of the variables with a broader variety of escapements. The student’s command of the common escapements\, after taking this class\, should go a long way toward grasping the more esoteric escapements that cross the bench frequently. A poor understanding of escapement work and how to reset them properly for restoration work is a major cause of weak performance and a cause for return work. It is the aim of this course to increase the success rate at the bench and help decrease the time of repair work on the bench.  This class is also designed to push the student forward towards those skill sets needed for certification.    \nDate:   April 14-16\, 2023\, 10am-6pm  \nLocation:  Pecos Trail Cafe and Inn—https://www.thepecostrailinn.com \nClass cost:  $645 which includes a $50 materials fee. \nTeacher:  Jerry Faier \n
