DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nWatch 155: Fundamentals on Quartz Watches \n  \n  \n\nThe purpose of this course is to teach the student the fundamentals of modern quartz watch troubleshooting\, diagnostics and service. The student will learn how to perform the various important electronic tests e.g. current consumption\, coil resistance\, lower working voltage\, fault finding etc.\n\n  \n\nPrerequisites:\n\nSome basic understanding in electronic watch functions\,\nKnowledge of watch terminology.\nOwnership of the book The Theory of Horology is essential. Must read\, chapter 15 of The Theory of Horology\, prior to attending the course.\nIt would be of extreme benefit for the student to be familiar with some watch theory and also previous experience in watch repair.\n\n\n\n  \n\nWatch calibers covered include: Ronda 715\, ETA 955.xxx and F06.xxx\n\n  \n\nLength of course: Monday-Thursday 8am -5pm Friday 8am – 3pm\n\n  \n\nObjectives: At the completion of this class you have:\nA basic understanding of the history of quartz watches\nWorking knowledge of all the quartz components in detail and their purpose\nTechniques for testing and measuring points for analog quartz watches\nThe ability to troubleshoot and diagnose quartz movement utilizing modern quartz analyzers\nIdentify and procure movements for the purpose of movement exchange\nRemove and install dial\, hands\, and case movements\n\n  \n\nBasic Schedule\n\nMonday\n\n\nLearn basic history of quartz watches\nLearn manufactures of quartz watches\nIdentify components associated with quartz watches\nTuesday\nContinued communication on quartz components\nIntroduction to quartz testing equipment\nTesting quartz watches\nWednesday\nContinued testing and troubleshooting\nThursday\nDialing and casing\nStem cutting and fitting\nContinued practice with movements\nFriday\nMovement swapping and fitting to case including dials and hands\nEssential materials for the student to bring \n\n  \nFor all AWCI courses\, AWCI will provide cleaning machines and solutions.
