TAG Heuer’s Smartwatch May Be Revealed as Early as January 2015

In December HT we reported that TAG Heuer plans to make a smartwatch and that it would probably be launched at Baselworld in March 2015. A recent article in Business Insider says that the launch of TAG Heuer’s smartwatch may come sooner than expected. According to Business Insider’s sources, TAG Heuer is apparently working with Intel, US-based manufacturer of microprocessing chips, and the finished smartwatch could make its first public appearance at the popular consumer technology trade show CES (Consumer Electronics Showcase) that runs from January 5 to January 9 in Las Vegas.
Until now no information has been available about what the TAG Heuer smartwatch would look like except that it would not be like Apple’s planned smartwatch. According to the Business Insider report, TAG Heuer’s smartwatch will have a classic analog design instead of a touchscreen like other smartwatches currently available on the market. It will be able to track the number of steps taken, calories burned, and sleep patterns. Its design will be similar in appearance to the Withings Activate (see photo). It will definitely be a premium purchase, with the emphasis on style and exclusivity rather than technological attributes alone.
