Learn how mechanical clocks work while assembling your very own clock.
Your introduction to clockmaking begins with a tour of the Cincinnati Observatory and a short lecture about timekeepings relationship to astronomy. Then you will sit down at a clockmakers bench and the experienced clockmakers at the American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Instititue will show you how to assemble your own clock. You will learn about all the different parts of the clock, what they do, and how they do it, as you assemlbe the clock movement and then install the dial and hands. You will make adjustments to regulate the clock and then take it home to proudly display on the mantel.
No prior experience is necessary.
